Student Support

Grievance Cell

MES College Chathamangalam has established a Grievance Redressal Committee in each department to address student concerns related to Internal Assessment grades. The committee includes the Class Tutor, one senior faculty member, and student representatives from each class, with the Head of the Department serving as the Chairperson. This structure ensures that academic grievances are handled promptly and fairly within the department itself.

At the institutional level, a College Grievance Redressal Committee is constituted by the Principal, who also serves as its Chairperson. The committee comprises three faculty members nominated by the College Council—at least one of whom is a woman—along with the Chairman and Secretary of the College Union as ex-officio members. This committee convenes monthly to review actions taken, issue guidelines, and ensure a peaceful and student-friendly atmosphere across the campus.

Anti-Ragging Policy

Ragging is a criminal offence liable for severe punishment including expulsion from the college. Once incidents are reported, immediately after spot enquiry, the cases are handed over to the police, and those involved will have to face serious legal consequences.

  • Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits.
  • Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process.

  • Any act or abusive spoken words, e-mails, post, public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other student.
  • Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student.
