MES College of Arts and Science, Chathamangalam is committed to providing high-quality education in the fields of Arts, Science, and Commerce, in line with the norms of the UGC, University of Calicut, and the Government of Kerala. The institution aims to nurture multidisciplinary, responsible citizens and to meet the expectations of students and parents through continual improvement in the quality of educational services.
Objectives of IQAC.
To develop and apply quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
To facilitate the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty development by adopting necessary knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning.
To disseminate information on various quality parameters of higher education.
To organize inter- and intra-institutional workshops and seminars on quality-related themes, and to promote quality circles among different stakeholders.
To document various programmes and activities aimed at quality improvement.
To act as the nodal agency of the college for coordinating quality-related activities, including the adoption and dissemination of best practices.
To develop and maintain an institutional database for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing institutional quality.
To foster a quality culture within the institution.
To prepare the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per NAAC guidelines and parameters, and submit it to NAAC.
To participate in various institutional quality rankings.
To support neighboring colleges in their NAAC accreditation and other quality enhancement initiatives.
To collect and analyze feedback from various stakeholders, including students, teachers, alumni, employers, and parents.

IQAC Initiatives
Conduct academic and administrative audits to assess institutional performance.
Conduct green, environmental, and energy audits in collaboration with recognized environmental agencies.
Organize Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) for both teaching and non-teaching staff.
Conduct orientation programs for newly admitted students and “Finishing School” sessions for outgoing UG and PG students.
Collect and analyze feedback from students, faculty, alumni, employers, and parents after each semester.
Prepare and evaluate annual plans for departments, clubs, forums, and cells.
Strengthen the Learning Management System (LMS) to enhance digital learning.
Establish and support the Project Quality Cell (PQC) for academic excellence.
Encourage collaborations and MoUs for conferences, seminars, and short-term programs.
Ensure timely submission of AQAR and SSR reports.
Recommend new UG and PG programs based on academic and industry relevance.
Provide input on the construction and modernization of institutional facilities.
Support faculty and research scholars in undertaking research projects.
Promote research excellence among students and faculty members.
Recognize outstanding contributions through student, scholar, and faculty awards.
Introduce skill development programs in alignment with national initiatives.
Motivate faculty to conduct Short-Term Programs under academic autonomy.
Promote project work, internships, and industry visits to enhance student skill sets.
Organize FDPs and workshops on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), question bank preparation, and examination digitalization.
Conduct workshops on research ethics, IPR, copyrights, and patents.
Offer guidance on syllabus revision and curriculum design.
Conduct comprehensive result analysis for academic improvement.
Encourage publication and research contributions from both faculty and students.
Document college activities and achievements on the official college website.

SKY – Skill to Youth Programme
The Skill to Youth (SKY) programme is a structured skill development initiative aimed at equipping students with the competencies required for academic success, employability, and personal growth. The programme supports students throughout their academic journey—helping them begin their careers, thrive in professional roles, and grow into future leaders.
